Now that the wedding is less than a month away, we've been getting quite a few questions about what to wear, and we thought you all might appreciate a blog post on the subject.
Let's start with the men. Here are some examples of acceptable looks:
| The Dapper Gent (suit) |
| The Dapper Gent on Vacation (suit sans tie) |
| The After Hours Stock Broker (suit sans jacket) |
Here are some examples of looks to avoid:
| The Godfather (tuxedo) |
| The Tourist (Hawaiian print, shorts, beachwear, etc.) | | | | |
Now for the women. Here are some examples of appropriate looks:
| The Sundress |
| The Cocktail Dress |
| The Classy Maxi |
Looks to avoid:
| The Prom Dress |
| The Beach Cover-up |
I should also mention that everyone will be receiving leis to wear for the wedding. Here is the breakdown for those in case it impacts your outfits:
| White Tuberose Lei | | |
If you are the mother of the bride, mother of the groom, or grandmother of the bride you will be getting a white tuberose lei.
| Maile Lei |
Maile leis are for the father of the bride and the father of the groom.
| Purple Dendrobium Orchid Lei |
The dendrobium leis are for Sarah, Katie, Analida, Sandy, Caroline, Lani, and Marisa.
| Ti Leaf Lei |
The ti leaf leis are for Matthew, Mark, Jim, and Colin.
We hope this helps answer everyone's attire questions. If you need clarification on anything or you want to share your outfits please use the comments.

OK, i don't own many solid colors. My dresses have prints that look more like the "beach cover up" than the appropriate looks, but I think I got the point, which is to save my muumuu for another day, am I right? :)
ReplyDeleteMy dress is more in the "cocktail dress" category. Colin has chosen an all black outfit in honor of Uncle Alex. LOL
